MIT researchers think MARISIL way...
posted by: Peter Antoniac on 02.04.2009

Some people brought to our attention here that researchers at MIT are demonstrating their "6th sense demo" using our MARISIL idea to interact with numbers on the hands... We are very happy to see that more research is targeted to this area of user interaction. We are also glad to see the confirmation for our patent implementation being validated by respected independent researchers from MIT in their demonstrations.

Possible patent infringement
posted by: Petri Pulli on 23.01.2007

We have been pointed out at a designer web site (Yanko Design) where there is a designer concept presented ( by Sunman Kwon). The design concept is a variation of what we are working on. Our invention is not only about video see-through, although this is now our priority. We have been researching and took into consideration the use of laser/normal projectors or the use of hand-gloves, etc. All of which have been covered in the patent application. Even so, we are happy to see that our ideas are shared, and we will try to contact the designer to establish possible cooperation in concept and product designs.

Using OpenCV and ARToolkit we have managed to create a new software platform that could be used to includeMARISIL. As soon as we get the source code clean, we will publish and try to merge it into ARToolkit.
