Peter Antoniac is an assistant professor in the Department of Information Processing Science at the University of Oulu. In June 2005 he received his PhD with the dissertation title "Augmented reality based user interface for mobile applications and services" from University of Oulu, Department of Information Processing Science. He also received the Dipl.Eng (M.Sc. in Computer Science) and the Lic.Tech. in Concurrent Engineering from University "Politehnica" of Bucharest in 1997 and 1998, respectively. In 1999 he received a doctorate grant from Academy of Finland for a period of 4 years. He also received a grant from Nokia Foundation in 2003. His expertise and current research interests are concerning Augmented and Mixed Reality, Concurrent Engineering, Flexible System Manufacturing, Computer Networks, Real-time Systems, Wearable Computers, Ubiquitous Devices and Applications. He participated to EU research project ESPRIT-25946, Tekes/Cyphone project and Academy of Finland/Tektronics/Paula project. Peter Antoniac has been active and contributed also to IST/WSI Project and IST/WWRI and his work has been included in the "Book of Visions". He has 1 US patent accepted in the field of mobile devices, 1 journal article, more than 14 conference papers and several other papers.
